I confess I really wanted to read this second volume simply because I had enjoyed myself with the first one, now I regret not having taking the time to read it before. This was even better!

We continue following the story of Hana, who needs to pass for her sister to attend a marriage interview with this rich guy Takane. Who turns out to be how most rich shoujo protagonists are, a stuck-up, senseless, arrogant but super handsome man. In this volume, while they're still getting to know one another, Hana needs to fool Takane's grandfather and the high society, interpreting her early-twenties older sister. The things is she discovers their secret isn't so simple, for it would be a big scandal if people learned Takane is seeing a high-schooler. Later in the manga, we also meet who might be the love rival to Takane, his old friend Nicola.

Rivals have always put me off because their sole reason to be is to get in the way and earn the mangaka some chapters. But just like Takane and Hana's relationship brings nuances that make the outcomes to all clichés unexpected and funny (refer to my review to volume 1), Nicola was also a big surprise. He's everything you'd imagine him to be, but the story develops in a completely different direction.

About the main couple, oh my, can they be even more lovely! The more I read the more I see their chemistry develop. It's not the love-and-hate thing I thought I'd read from the summary. They do complement one another. Especially when it comes to Takane's shortcomings, Hana never gives him a break.

Hana is an interestingly funny protagonist who won't submit to any shoujo manga cliché thrown her way. I love her! Takane, on the other hand, continues to have to revise his attitude here and constantly fails in a super cute manner.

I loved this volume even more than the initial one!

Honest review based on an ARC provided by Edelweiss. Many thanks to the publisher for this opportunity.

Rating: 4 out of 5.
