[Review] Kiss Cam - Kiara London

Summary: Juniper, Jasper, and Lenny have been friends forever and co-own a vlog channel called WereVloggingHere. Their fans are huge "shippers" who believe that Juniper and Jasper are perfect for each other, and, despite warnings from friends and family, a simple Truth-or-Dare inspired kiss soon spirals out of control into a whole new world of making out and surprise kisses.

Juniper and Jasper's relationship begins to shift. But as fan requests for different "Kiss Cam" segments keep pouring in, Juniper puts her worries aside and convinces herself that it doesn't mean anything. After all, it's just kissing… right?

In this adorably fun, fresh, and modern contemporary romance, a trio of vloggers push the boundaries of their friendship by giving in to fan requests for a "Kiss Cam" segment. (Pub Date: Oct 18, 2016)

Honest review based on an ARC provided by Netgalley. Many thanks to the publisher for this opportunity.

Following the trend of books on internet trends, this is a nice take on friends testing limits.

Juniper has had a vlog with her friends for years but they still need to keep their public. When the shippers suggest two of them kiss, and the video with her and Jasper is a success, a new feature is born, the Kiss Cam. But Juniper has had feelings for Jasper in the past, and recovered at great cost. won't this kissing spoil all their friendship?

The reading was easy. I do think there was excessive angsting "OMG, what about our friendship!" but the author still kept me interested through that. In fact, even though I was skeptical on all that drama, it got to me eventually so much I cared for the characters.

I also loved how she created the whole vlog fandom. I'm not very knowledgeable in vlogging but I certainly know about fandom and especially about shipping. She managed to use it all, and still be convincing on how the people being shipped reacted. This part was just so good! I loved it when the trio reacted to the fandom's craziness.

Talking about craziness, this story was built on it. I really hope teens out there won't succumb to pressure and start vlogging "kiss cams". Sorry for revealing my far-too-conservative mental age. I just kept thinking how outrageous the situation was to live, and yet, guilty as charged. I just loved how she dared break the barriers. It worked very well.

This is for you who want a funny romance between two friends.

Note to the author: Time for Lenny! *wink*
